SeributawaNews - Nine people are believed dead after a French helicopter crashed near the southern port city of Kismayo Somalia, reports Press TV.
The military helicopter crashed Friday night (11/11) when patrolling the area between the town of Horse and Kismayo, Somalia Captain Sabriye local officials said.
The accident caused a massive explosion and cause fire into the sky.
French helicopters flying over the area, to provide backup for the Kenya army, which launched an offensive into Somalia in October last in the pursuit of al-Shabaab fighters.
In late October, the French military spokesman Col. Thierry Burkhard said Paris would help the air transport military equipment to troops near the Kenya Somalia border. (eramuslim)
