Sudan expelled the Ambassador of Kenya

SeributawaNews - Sudan has ordered the ambassador to Kenya to leave Khartoum and pulled their ambassadors out of Nairobi after a Kenyan high court ordered the government to arrest the President of Sudan, a spokesman for Sudan's foreign ministry said on Monday (28/11).

Kenyan court on Monday ruled that the state government shall withhold Omar Bashir is wanted by the International Criminal Court for alleged war crimes and genocide in the Darfur region.

Human rights groups have criticized the failure of Kenya for their arrest Bashir when he attended a ceremony in Nairobi in August 2010.

A foreign ministry spokesman said Monday that the Sudanese government in Khartoum had ordered the Kenyan ambassador to leave the country within 72 hours. He said Sudan has also been summoned their ambassadors from Nairobi.

Sudan's Foreign Ministry earlier said the court's decision was linked to domestic politics of Kenya and will not affect bilateral relations. (eramuslim)
